Yes, it is addicting! Crack hair products that is...
I was introduced to this product by a supplier around 2011. I had been given a sample during an in-store purchase nearly 6 months before and had tossed it in my desk drawer with a million other samples I had received. You know how it is, it's going to be the next best thing...yadda, yadda, yadda.
Crack...an addicting, habit-forming hair fix. This leave-in hair cream is made with Acai Extract and wheat proteins. This multi-tasker moisturizes the entire hair shaft to protect from dryness, thermal styling, and humidity. It is your source for 100% Vegan and Cruelty-Free professional hair care!
Let me tell you about a time when I did something I shouldn't have with my hair and how this amazing line of products saved me and why I believe in it so much.
When I used this product the very first time, I was desperate... This was a case of "Do as I say, not as I do".
I was to perform at the state cosmetology convention in front of all of my colleagues and mentors. Bright lights and all eyes on me (and my bestie Sheila). That Wednesday, Sheila had come down to have our final fitting for our stage outfits and to go over our "routine". Around 1:00 that afternoon, Sheila was getting ready to head back to her home and tweak our final script. I desperately needed my hair colored (you know how it is), and I knew I wouldn't have time to do it myself, so I begged Sheila to color the front of my hair to transform myself back into 'The Viking goddess'. I promised (and pinkie swore) to wash it out as soon as I was done with my next client. Thirty minutes without heat would be just about the right timing. so she agreed, as long as I promised--I think you know where this is going...
A cut turned into a cut and wax; then a lady was "desperate" to have a nail fix but turned it into a full fill...then one thing lead to another and 3 hours later, I washed out my hair...it was the texture of cotton candy and disintegrating in my hand. I was sick to my stomach and mortified. I CAN"T go on stage like this! I'm a stylist for Pete's sake! I was as careful as I could be and rinsed the bleach out. I went into my drawer of sample products to find a fix for my "Angie knows better" mistake. I grabbed a sample of Crack Hair Fix Styling Cream I had been given months earlier. The packaging said it worked to help restore elasticity. Bingo! That's exactly what I needed and had 4 of those babies! I immediately opened one of the samples and gently worked it into my "bleached" hair, carefully blow dried it in to help it penetrate, and said a little prayer. My hair started to change texture in just one treatment!
I worked on a couple more clients and took another of those little life-saving samples and worked it in. This time when I was done blow-drying, I flat ironed it into my hair to further "seal it in". It started to feel like hair again! Halleluja!
When I went home that night to pack for the convention, I jumped in the shower and washed my hair again. I know, I tell people not to wash their hair too much, but I was trying to "fix" it (again, "do as I say, not as I do!"). I got out of the shower and put another sample of Crack Hair Fix Styling Cream in my hair and put a plastic cap on my head to give myself a "deep conditioning" treatment while I packed. I hit my hair every once in a while with a blow-dryer to use the heat to help it penetrate deeper. When I was done packing, I took the cap off and blow-dried the treatment into my hair and then flat ironed it in as well, so it would be completely sealed in. By this time, it was almost feeling "back to normal". Whew!
On our way to the hotel, we stopped at the supplier who had originally given me the Crack Hair Fix Styling Cream sample and picked up a tube. After we set up our assigned booth and classroom, I went back to the hotel and put the purple in my hair (yeah, I'm a glutton for punishment!). When I got out of the shower, I instantly grabbed the tube of Crack Hair Fix and applied a generous amount to my entire head. I was amazed at how much shine I was getting from this product especially after the damage I had! Those who have known me for a long time know, that at this point in my life, I permed and colored my hair fairly often so it was quite dull and dry. I blow-dried my hair and flat ironed it and it looked and felt normal! Win!!
The next morning I simply got my hair wet and did not shampoo it again. Again I used a small amount of Crack Hair Fix and diffused my hair, leaving it curly for the day. It was shiny and relatively healthy-looking.
Anyone who has over-processed their hair knows that it usually doesn't hold a curl, whether it be a perm or curling iron. But there was movement and it was decent!
That night, when it was time to get ready for the show, I just added the tiniest amount of Hair Fix to my hair and curled it with the curling iron...Presto! No one was aware of my hair disaster a few days before.
As you can see from the picture on the right, you cannot even tell that the "bleach" had been in it for 3 hours! Just look at that SHINE!
In the last nine years, this line has grown. The styling cream was the only product available at first and, in my opinion, it was a miracle product. Where was this when I was 9 and the old lady at the little beauty shop fried my hair into an afro that looked more a metal pot scrubber!?
Since then they have added a shampoo called Crack Clean & Soaper. This shampoo is very low lathering, nourishing, moisturizing cleanser infused with original Frizz-fighting Crack formula. It removes build-up and leaves hair smooth and soft with a healthy shine.
To complement the shampoo they added a conditioner called Crack In Treatment which is moisture-rich and protective. It detangles, smooths and tames dry frizzy hair, helping to restore hair's natural vitality.
Crack Mist is a leave-in spray conditioner that is fine hair friendly. This lightweight spray, when used on wet hair, detangles and protects from thermal styling and humidity. It can also be used on dry hair as a restyler and to tame the frizzies.
And to complete the line they offer Crack Finishing hairspray. It's firm hold aerosol. I don't even know how to explain this product...It's fast-drying and doesn't flake. Where was this in the '80s?
At The Cutting Edge Salon and Spa, we now offer an in-salon Crack treatment. Your hair will be shampooed twice (lather. rinse. repeat) with Clean & Soaper; followed by Crack In Flux Deep Conditioner. Then, we place a processing cap over the hair and heat applied for 10 to 25 minutes- depending on your hair condition and type. Next, we rinse and style your hair with the amazing Crack product line for healthy, soft, and shiny hair. The in-salon treatment is available for online booking and all the products in this article are available for purchase in our online store. We offer in-salon pickup and we also offer free shipping.
Be assured you can buy with confidence when you purchase a product within the salon that, if used correctly, will perform as it states on the bottle. Every item within our salon has been tested by me or one of my "guinea pigs." I have several regular clients who test products prior to me placing them on my shelf.
For the month of August, we are offering a 10% discount on the entire line purchased either in the store or online. If you would like to book the in-salon treatment you will receive a 15% discount. You can book the Crack treatment by calling (507) 235-5111 or book online.
This article contains only the highlights of the amazing effects of these products. I, in no way, encourage anyone to leave bleach on their hair for three hours. IT IS AGAINST THE RULES! DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME! We recommend seeing a professional stylist for all of your beauty needs and ask about at-home products to maintain your look. All products are not the same.
Now, it's time for you to get your fix...your Crack Hair Fix, that is!
Have a great day!
